NFA & tax-stamp tracking

Questions dealers actually ask

Is NexusFFL ATF-approved?

No, and no A&D software can be pre-approved. ATF evaluates each licensee's request individually per 27 CFR 478.125(h). NexusFFL's "Compliance packet" button generates a sample printout and cover letter for your own variance request to your local Director of Industry Operations.

Where is my data hosted, and who can see it?

NexusFFL runs as a hosted, multi-tenant service on U.S. infrastructure. Your organization's records are isolated from every other dealer's, and only accounts you create can sign in. If you'd rather run your own instance, NexusFFL is also available self-hosted at no license cost; either way, records stay on U.S. soil per Ruling 2016-1.

Does checkout stop me from selling a firearm without a completed 4473?

Yes. A firearm line item can't complete a sale until its 4473 has been certified and transferred. That's enforced by the platform itself, not left as a manual reminder.

Do I still need separate point-of-sale software?

No. Checkout, covering firearms, ammo, and accessories, is built into NexusFFL itself, on every plan, at no extra cost. Cash, check, and other manual tender work today; card processing via NMI or Stripe is next, with gateway connection already live in Admin.

What happens to my records if I cancel?

They're yours. Export a full CSV of your bound book, or take a database backup, at any time before you cancel.

Can more than one person use it at once?

Yes. Every staff member gets their own account (owner or staff role), and every action in the audit log is attributed to whoever was signed in.

Do you offer a legal defense guarantee?

Not currently. NexusFFL focuses on giving you accurate records, automated detection, and an audit trail you can stand behind. For legal defense arrangements, talk to your own attorney.

If I have more than one FFL, can they share one account?

They shouldn't. Ruling 2016-1's condition on database partitioning means each license needs its own separate, dedicated set of records, and the Multi-license plan sets this up correctly from the start.

Does NexusFFL track NFA items and tax stamps while they're pending?

Yes. Each NFA item gets a status field (Submitted, Pending, Approved, or Denied), a filed date, and an eForms tracking number, editable right on the record. Once a stamp is marked Approved, it stays on the compliance-alerts banner until you mark the customer notified, so an approved pickup doesn't sit forgotten.
